When people ask me what I do, my answer is usually followed with a “wow, really?” type of response. As soon as I came across this opportunity to work from home teaching ESL to students in China, I didn’t believe it was real- it sounded too good to be true.
It took two weeks to wrap my head around the idea of actually being able to leave a traditional classroom to work remotely doing something I love. Every person I talked to said they had never heard of VIPKid, so after I went through the process and received my first paycheck, I started spreading awareness to others looking to supplement their income. Over the past year, I’ve watched journeys unfold before my eyes, and lives change.
